MOMETASONE FUROATE

About MOMETASONE FUROATE

MOMETASONE FUROATE belongs to the class of medicines called ‘corticosteroids’ used to reduce inflammation (swelling), itchiness and redness caused by certain skin problems called dermatitis or psoriasis. Dermatitis is a common skin condition associated with dry, itchy, or swollen skin. Psoriasis is a condition in which skin cells multiply faster than normal, resulting in white scales and itchy, dry patches.

MOMETASONE FUROATE contains Mometasone furoate, a potent corticosteroid that works by acting inside skin cells and inhibits the release of certain inflammatory substances in the body that cause redness, itching, and swelling. When the skin reacts to any allergens, such substances are released normally.

Use MOMETASONE FUROATE as prescribed. You are advised to use MOMETASONE FUROATE for as long as your doctor has recommended it based on your condition. MOMETASONE FUROATE is for external use only. Avoid contact of MOMETASONE FUROATE with nose, mouth, or eyes. In case MOMETASONE FUROATE comes in contact with these areas accidentally, rinse with water thoroughly. Some people may experience inflamed hair follicles, acne, thinning of the skin, itching, stinging, tingling or burning sensation. Most of these side effects do not require medical attention and gradually resolve over time. However, if the side effects persist or worsen, please consult your doctor.

If you are allergic to Mometasone furoate or any other medicines, please tell your doctor.  If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please inform your doctor before using MOMETASONE FUROATE. MOMETASONE FUROATE is not recommended for children for long-term use as it may lead to slow growth. Contact your doctor immediately if you notice vision changes after using MOMETASONE FUROATE. Stop using MOMETASONE FUROATE and contact your doctor if your skin becomes sensitive or irritated. Do not cover or wrap the treated area with a bandage unless advised by your doctor. Avoid using MOMETASONE FUROATE for more than five days in children and on the face. Avoid using MOMETASONE FUROATE in or around the eyes, including eyelids. Do not use MOMETASONE FUROATE on large areas of the body or for longer.
